When I went out to shovel, it took about 1 hour to get rid of and then I decided to walk to the mailbox. As I walked I noticed a gentleman shoveling his driveway by himself and felt it necessary to help. After getting the mail I headed back and got my shovel and proceeded to offer my services.
After an introduction between us I began to shovel and we began to talk so more. It turns out he should not have been shoveling at all due to a heart condition! Anyway, long story made mildly shorter, by the end of the shoveling I met his wife and found out about his kids, one of which is my age, and they offered to help me find a job (I have been out of work for three years now, longer story). I went home and had supper, exercised for a half hour and then sat watching the television for a bit.
By 8pm someone was at the door, and it turned out to be the older son of these people whom I helped and he came in and discussed with me his job and how they are looking for people there. He gave me the website and showed me what to look for and gave me a contact name too! Tomorrow he promised to come back with a referral form as well.
So, who knows what will happen now, but it just goes to show that if you listen to that little voice inside you never know what will happen!
