So, I dedided to get up early and head to the local theatre, which is in a mall. Star Wars had two afternoons times, one at 12 pm and another at 3:30pm, obviously I chose to go 12 pm. My choice lay in two ways 1) I HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM!!!!! 2) maybe at 12 there will not be so many idiot teens, which 3:30 would easily have. The good news, I was right, the bad news, I was also wrong. I forgot to calculate an unfathomable type of stupid. PARENTS!!!! Somewhere between bliss at finding my "perfect" seat and complete awe at viewing trailers for both the new Batman movie and the Narnia adaptation, two sets of parent with children came in, one set one row in front of me and one directly behind me......hmmmm......
Well, despite my prayers and hopes, only the ones in front where ok. The idiots behind me brought 4 kids, two of whom sat behind me, yet all of which in earshot. Especially the baby. Yes, BABY!!!!! WTF!!!! Who brings an infant to a movie.....a STAR WARS MOVIE!!!!! There better be a special hell reserved for such idiots.
Oddly, though the baby cried a few times, the kids were worse....kicking the back of my seat a bit, but mostly announcing every character as they came on screen like they were shocked that Yoda and R2-D2 show up in a STAR WARS movie!! And to add to the annoyance, every droid sound, and even various other sounds, were re-created immediately after they were heard, with very little talent may I add!!!!!
Luckily, my resolve is never to see any Star Wars movie just once, but this was the worst first viewing ever of any movie I have seen. The movie on the other hand was pretty good, but I will save a review for another enjoyable viewing, as I am sure I did not fully appreciate everything as I normally would have. I will say the movie was too short...yes it is about 2 hours and 10 minutes long, but too short. Anakin's actions in his descent needed more fleshing out, not just mere mentionings and set-ups without pay-off.
Anyway, until I see it again, that is it for now. Go see it!! Enjoy the throwbacks to the original trilogy, there is a very easy one to spot from Jedi and have fun watching the styles of the prequels start to blend in with the original trilogy!

I WANT to go see it!!! I'm yearning to go see it, but, alas, I must wait until Sunday . . . (sigh). Maybe I should just go tomorrow by myself . . . there's an idea. I'd probably enjoy it (as long as there were no idiot children in sight).
And when it comes to Star Wars movies I usually end up thinking it could have been fleshed out a little more in terms of characterization. Lucas isn't the best when it comes to that sort of thing. But what he does well, he really does well.
