As my eyes stare into the face of this stranger
My heart finds familiarity
A drapery of silk recollection caresses,
As windswept remembrances simultaneously take flight and come to rest
What stillness has come to life through this countenance?
The many answerless questions accost with exasperating verbosity
Tranquil no longer, my mind is wrapped in velvet thorns
Tearing at the fabric that shields my view
My thoughts, as leaflets in the gale
Aplomb, now tossed asunder,
A thunder swells within, without…
I lay
I have grasped at each attempt that dance around my once nimble mind
Each finger has felt the shame of loosing the fools’ hope
Each finger has been damned by their dimwitted attempts
Blood, how it’s rhythm owns my ears
I stare at my reflected face as it runs down that cheek
How I envy that droplet
Its journey is over,
My questions have just begun
