side street galaxies

each window I pass is a gateway to a new world
while never daring to be the one staring
the thought still occurs upon each street
each row of houses, lights lit or dim
a realm of possibilities lays just beyond
a separate landscape, even just across my lawn
be it night time, noon or dawn
there are subtle flickers of alien beings
brilliantly disguised to seem like me
yet what world lays behind their fortress?
what secrets are not whispered beyond the door?
one day I may brave to look into the glass
and see beyond the curtained curiosity
until then I shall stay within my own world
imagining the realms that lay beyond my own

"side street galaxies" is a great title! And I like "subtle flickers of alien beings / brilliantly disguised" . . . but I'd edit for unnecessary words here and there, in general. The title just pops and the verse only pops here and there. But I think it has potential.
