Validation

While I may not have a great amount of skill in this realm, I still chose to write a little something in honor of a friend/family.

After years of self imposed shadows of doubt
A ray of light shone down from seemingly nowhere
Yet it came
Through years of wondering, praying, questioning
My own sanity and it’s magnificent requiem, looming
Yet it came
It found me in the most unlikely of times
It found me as I have been throughout these many years of life
But it found me nonetheless
Within a letter from elected minds,
Upon the lips of warmly embraced loved ones
Validation
I sigh in a moment of contentment
Sipping gently upon freshly warmed tea

Hey! This is nice! You know, really, this is a pretty good poem. The use of repetition adds rhythm and structural unity. And sanity's "magnificent requiem" is a great line! Good ending for it too . . . with tea!! I like it. :)
