Lesser

In Earth surrounded,
Yet alone

Another piece, buried

My heart shrinks again

Once so large, so full
Now lesser becomes more

I once saw through panes of rose,
Pain, pieces lost, my view now jaded

My hearts fear, new arrivals of greeting
Each hello, as coin flips, turns a departure

How many times!?!

The minutes as hours,
Days become seconds

I surrender, yet not give up

All that had taste, seems bland

Another piece, buried

Alone, yet

Surrounded in earth
