setting the flashlight to my ear, flickered silhouettes of thought
dance now upon the wall
once darkest coal, now wind blown ember
inner light teaches the pupil anew
the fiercest sight set now in motion, darkness
never again
splashed dazzlingly, the musings leap and strut
the cogs in motion, the flames soar high
alas, the batteries, now drained of life
the light of dawn made dusk
flickered dances, conjured once, now gone
incompetence reigns again
upon the wall, a silhouette of man
once brilliant, now
just a husk
